A tall woodland lily, the Turk’s-cap is an addition to the mid-summer color. The leaf pattern is unusual in that there are radiating and opposite leaves. The recurved blooms of orange have black spots and long stamens and pistils. This gouache original is in the permanent collection of St. Catherine’s School, Richmond, VA.
