A native of the Mid-Atlantic mountains in seepage areas, the ‘jack’ is distinguished by three large leaves and a hooded lip. The bright red berries follow in the Fall. The original gouache painting on English linen record paper is in the permanent collection of Queens University of Charlotte, Charlotte, NC.
