This fruit was probably an English escape that now flourishes in the Mid-Atlantic states in the wild. It was painted on English record paper in gouache with graphite enhancements. The crabapple is now in the permanent collection of Longwood University, Farmville, VA. This is the premier collection of works of contemporary artists in the Commonwealth of Virginia. The Spring 2015 issue of "Our Town" published by Longwood University featured this work in an article titled "Buried Treasure" by Beth Cope: Link to Article.
